Expertise
Newsco has developed and a refined a robust and highly efficient Positve Mud Pulse MWD system designed to operate reliably in the harshest drilling environments. This MWD system provides flexibility for additional sensors, remote operation and in-field maintenance.
Newsco's MWD kits are complete with Gamma Ray probes and software to produce Gamma Ray logs for accurate formation evaluation. Proprietary modifications have been made to Newsco's positive pulse systems to operate in high concentrations of LCM material. A reduction in areas the LCM is able to adhere to and increased flow areas have proven very effective in high LCM and high yield point mud properties.
Newsco's DrillWell consolidates gamma, resistivity, pressure while drilling, and MWD monitoring functions into a single, powerful hardware and software package.
It has been designed in conjunction with MWD operators, for MWD operators. DrillWell provides an MWD surface system that decodes, displays and logs crucial down-hole information in a rapid and accurate transmission, that is both reliable and field proven.
Newsco's Vertical Azimuth Deviation Electronic Recorder (NVADER) tool is an innovative, fully retrievable vertical well monitoring resource that provides quick and accurate survey on demand telemetry.

Newsco has integrated two industry proven systems - Newsco MWD with APS technology Wave Propagation Resistivity system - to offer a robust and diverse Wave Propagation Resistivity Tool suite. The WPR in combination with Newsco's TUFFSHOT solution provides an efficent and reliable survey system able to withstand the rigors of high LCM and harsh drilling conditions.
This tool provides high resolution and accuracy recoding for Geosteering and LAS file modeling. The WPR operates in all mud types including oil-based and salt-saturated drilling fluids and provides real-time resistivity with flexible transmission formats. High- resolution data is stored in the downhole memory which can be retireved and processed during trips.
Newsco has developed a reliable, intelligent, flexible and configurable EM Telemtry system that meets the challenges of the most demanding EM environments.
Conventional EM Telemetry equipment has several inflexibilities: fixed frequency and data rate, constant power output, high power consumption, and one method of communication. Our redesign of this technology eliminates these shortcomings and significantly enhances performance and reliablity.

Motors:
Newsco's Positive Displacement Mud motors are designed, manufactured and maintained to OEM and ISO 9001 standards. Available in fixed and adjustable bent housing configurations for directional, horizontal and performance drilling applications. All Newsco motors are available in a variety of application-specific lobe configurations. Newsco has motors capable of very high build rates for use in short radius re-entries. All motors are dyno tested before each job to ensure reliability and performance.
Newsco stocks numerous PDM motors and a variety of extended power section motors. These motors come in various sizes and configurations for all applications, including performance drilling.

Wellplanning:
Newsco engineers and technical personnel employ Landmark's Compass™ Well Planning software and applications. Compass™ is an industry-leading tool that allows technical personal to enter and manipulate key data for a variety of functions such as targets, well mapping, well plan projections, plotting, and reporting.Data used with Compass™ applications can be plotted using real-time measurements for planned vs. actual drilling scenarios so tracking becomes simple. Distances from existing wells or proposed wells, TVD (True Vertical Depth), azimuth and coordinates to given points can be plotted and implemented for accurate drilling. Compass™ also allows for visual and numerical displays of well proximities This function is very useful when laying out well pads with numerous wells which could come into close proximity of each other.
One of the key advantages of Compass™, is its database capabilities. This feature provides the client with up to the minute data on bottom hole assemblies, daily drilling activities, cost analysis and breakdown, slide sheets and tool utilization. The database allows drillers or clients to pull information from surrounding areas to optimize drilling performance. Some examples of Wellplans:
