HSE Program

The Newsco Field Orientation booklet compliments its on-line Safety & Training program. These documents ensure that all corporate policies and proper safe handling procedures of Newsco Directional tools are followed by Rig Crews and Newsco representatives.

Newsco safety prodedures are implimented via MWD / NVADER Engineers who presents the Newsco safety orientation to all rig crew members at the rig site. After the briefing, the attendees sign off on the last page of the Field Orientation booklet. The Consultant (Company Man) signs the tear-out card, acknowledging the fact that the crew has been briefed, keeps the Field Orientation booklet on file in his office and returns the tear-out card to the Newsco site operator for company records.

Newsco requires that all its consultants are fully versed and compliant with the Field Orientation booklet in addition to enforcing Newsco policies and procedures for all operations.

Newsco has developed its on-line safety program using RIG PASS® as the standard core curriculum. The curriculum was established by the drilling industry’s leading professionals to prepare employees for virtually any operating environment, onshore or offshore. RIG PASS® is recognized world wide from Europe, to Australia, the United States and Canada. The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) is a worldwide organization comprised of contractors, producers, and service companies in the energy industry. IADC developed the standard core curriculum and administers the program.

Newsco is accredited by IADC RIG PASS® to issue RIG PASS® cards with Offshore Endorsement as defined by the drilling industry’s leading safety and training professionals to the students that complete and pass a five day course which includes:
