Newsco is recognized for effectively setting several industry safety standards in the directional drilling arena as it is frequently referred to by COR, ISNETWORLD and Rig Pass auditors
as the model for Newsco's competition to follow. Newsco's HSE Manager has been invited to sit on the board committe as a representative for Directional Drilling operators for
ISNETWORLD and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Petroleum Certification program.
Newsco has an impeccable reputation for its safe, reliable operations due its on-line Safety and Training
program which is highly acclaimed and garnered a glowing letter of reference
from senior Certificate of Recognition (COR) auditor Holly Elke. This program is the only online training program that is fully accredited with distinction and Off Shore
endorsement through the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) RIG PASS®.
All field, shop and management personnel must participate and pass all required safety courses.
The courses are administered through a scorum-based computer program called The Learning Manager (TLM). TLM
trains, evaluates then records all test results for each employee in the TLM database. TLM further
assists in tracking expiry dates for time sensitive competencies, automatically sending out an email when core courses such as
First aid and H2s, TDG and WHMIS are due to expire.
Newsco's operator-specific on-line TLM training program covers all theoretical
and practical applications of Newsco drilling and MWD operations with documentable data covering 90 Sections with over 700 tested and recorded
competencies. These programs set an extremely high standard in quality and professionalism in all our operators.
